Our Resurrection Weekend services begin with our Good Friday Evening Gathering, March 29 at 7:00 pm, and conclude with our regular Sunday activities on Resurrection Sunday Morning, March 31!

Looking Back

The exposition of Scripture last Sunday examined the false repentance of Judas in light of his repentant actions.  The parallels to Peter in his betrayal of the Savior were staggering in that Judas seems to be more repentant than Peter, yet we know the outcome of both Judas and Peter beyond this passage.  The most critical element in repentantance and faith is always the heart, as Matthew has demonstrated over and over again in the teachings of Christ.

Thinking and Acting Ahead

This past Sunday was a rich opportunity to discuss the implications of this text in our lives and spur one another on in our application of genuine repentance, not only in our own lives, but how to communicate it to children, unbelievers, and how to confront one another in the church.  If you are not a part of a growth group, it is highly encouraged to join one and become more deeply ingrained members of our local body of Christ.

The questions for the growth groups are available on the Preparing for Sunday post and are most helpful in thinking through the passage and how to apply it in your life.  I highly encourage you to review this week's post and if you are not already signed up for the newsletter, do so right away.  It is weekly and provides updated information regarding the body and other helpful resources.
