Intentionally Act
- Seek to understand what this passage teaches about church membership. Do you need to confess in light of what this passage teaches about church membership? Have you wrongly understood church membership? If you’re a member of Summit Woods, what responsibility do you have to the body as a whole? How are you to think about yourself in relationship to the whole?
- Seek to understand what this passage teaches about baptism and its relationship to church membership. Do you need to confess in light of what this passage teaches about baptism and church membership? Have you wrongly understood this relationship? If you’re a member of Summit Woods, how should you think about others in light of your baptism? How are you to think about yourself in relationship to the whole? What role does the Spirit play in your relationship with other members?
- Pray that the Lord would grant our church understanding of this passage. Intercede for the Lord’s grace as our church seeks to apply the principles of this passage to membership and baptism. Seek the Lord’s grace in order to rightly think about your relationship to other members of Summit Woods. Ask for the Lord’s forgiveness for where you have failed to think about yourself and the body of Christ in terms of this passage. Pray that the Holy Spirit would work to create greater unity in our body.
