Our Resurrection Weekend services begin with our Good Friday Evening Gathering, March 29 at 7:00 pm, and conclude with our regular Sunday activities on Resurrection Sunday Morning, March 31!

Carefully Think

  • Read through all four chapters of Colossians.
  • Re-read chapter 3.  What is the focus of chapter 3?  Summarize each section of the chapter into a 2-3 word description.
  • Focus on verses 12-17.  How did you summarize these verses?  How does Paul start verse 12?
  • How does verses 12-17 related to 1-11?  Is there a relationship that is important?
  • These verses are commands of Paul to the Colossians, how do these verses apply to us today?
  • List all of the characteristics that Paul is telling the Colossions they need to "put on".
  • Are these commands to individuals or the entire church?  How would you know?

Prayerfully Meditate

  • Who and how should these verses be taken in the church today?  Do we need to follow all of them?
  • Is it possible for all of these characteristics to be in one person?  In one church?  What would that look like if they do?  What should we be expected to do if they are not?
  • How can a corporate body of believers grow toward these characteristics?
  • Do the preceding verses of 1-11 help us understand what we need to do before we can "put on" those characteristics in 12-17?  How can the body help with verses 1-11?

Intentionally Act

  • Pursue membership if you have been attending for a while and are looking to join.  If you have questions about salvation or what it means to be a believer, ask any member, Bible teacher or Elder.
  • If you are church member, pray for the Spirit's power to understand how church membership is integral into growing in the body of Christ, corporately and individually.
  • Pray for those in our church to pursue discipline one another, teaching and admonishing one another.
  • Pray for those who will be leading our gathering this week: Dawson Bryant, music; Todd Arnold, Elders' prayer and Scripture reading; Brett Harris, teaching.
  • Spend some time preparing for worship in the music below, but more importantly the lyrics. Pray that our church would come together as one to sing praise to the Lord, "teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God". (Col 3:16)
