Our Resurrection Weekend services begin with our Good Friday Evening Gathering, March 29 at 7:00 pm, and conclude with our regular Sunday activities on Resurrection Sunday Morning, March 31!

Please find below Brandon's notes from the Mid-service comments this past Sunday. Think through these comments and read the scriptures we have been drawn to. Meditate on the word and examine your heart and pray for us to come together as one body under the authority of Scripture.

In addition, please find the below link for the sermon that Todd Arnold referenced this past Sunday, regarding Paul and his home church in Antioch and their role in missions.

Mid-Service Comments

In Matthew 16 beginning in verse 13, Jesus is speaking to His disciples and he questions them, saying,

“Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14 And they said, “Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.” 15 He *said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

It’s been said that this the most important question anyone can ask, “Who is Jesus”?

Stop and ask yourself, who do you say that Jesus is? This goes beyond who do you hear that He is, or who do you read that He is. But who do YOU say that He is?

In the gospel account, Peter could answer correctly because he personally heard Jesus’ words and saw His work and it informed His faith and shaped His knowledge of Jesus.

In the Old Testament, Isaiah prophesies about the birth and reign of Jesus in Isaiah 9. In verse 6, Isaiah says, “and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (KJV)

This is who Jesus is. Do you believe these words? Have you witnessed Christ’s character as “Wonderful” or seen Him as “Counsellor”, “The mighty God”, “The everlasting Father,” or as “the Prince of Peace”?

If not, you should know that you can. Jesus brings us peace with God the Father, for He is our sin-bearer. God forgives sin and grants eternal life to those who believe that Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of the Living God.”
Maybe you’re already a Christian, but you need to experience Jesus’ as Wonderful and as Counselor. You may need to experience His might, along with His peace. Well, you can trust God’s Word and His promises to you that this is who Jesus is.

I pray that we would all know Him in this way, so that we can, like Peter, declare Jesus’ name with knowledge and conviction.
