Elder's Prayer

Please find below the notes from the Elder's Prayer this past Sunday.

We praise you God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit for creating this ever-expanding and mind-blowing universe. Thank you for creating our forefathers Adam and Eve and through them us in your own image (Genesis 1-3). Thank you for putting eternity within our hearts (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

We praise you that you are not bound by time, you are the alpha and omega (Revelation 1:8). You are the Ancient of Days (Daniel 7:9). We praise you God Most high (Genesis 14:18-20) for you are from everlasting to everlasting (Psalm 90:1-2). We magnify your name for you are a God who sees (Genesis 16:13). We exalt your name for you know everything (1 Samuel 2:3; Romans 11:33-36) - there is nothing hidden from you including our so-called secret sins. We praise you for you are God Almighty (Genesis 28:3). We glorify your name for you are self-existent (Isaiah 40:3; Exodus 6:1-4; 3:1-22). You do not need us or any other thing to exist but we are utterly dependent on you for our very existence and sustenance now and forever. We praise you for you are our banner (Exodus 17:15) We boast in you. We praise you Servant-King, for you are our only and only chief Shepherd. Thank you for leading us in green pastures. Thank you that you are with us leading, guiding and protecting us. We are undeserving of your grace. We are guaranteed of your goodness and mercy that will follow all the days of our lives because of your faithfulness. We praise you for your unchanging nature and faithfulness. We praise you God who heals us (Exodus 15:26). We praise you God of peace (Genesis 49:10). Our Lord of hosts (Isaiah 6:3), we praise you for you are the LORD our righteousness (Genesis 15:6). We thank you for your divine provisions (Genesis 22:14) in Christ Jesus, O Holy of Holies (Isaiah 6).

Thank you that this is the day that you have made for us to rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24). Thank you for enabling us to see this day, worship with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you for the privilege of being your children, serving you and your people. Thank you for the gift of eternal life. Please help us to endure until the end. In your Son’s name we pray, Amen.
